Unique Bodyplan Races
← Aquatic Races | Rare Races →
Unique bodyplan races do not follow the exact structure of most other races - they may have four legs, multiple more legs, digitigrade legs, or shapes that serve as extremely fluid. Races that simply have four arms alone are not included.

Deer
Lifespan: 200-400y Height: 4'00"-12'00" Diet: (varies) Sex: Binary Type: Non-Pony
Deer are divided into two distinct groups based on the time of day during their birth: carnivorous and horned night deer, and herbivorous day deer. Most deer segregate themselves by these variants, and take great pains to ensure their children are born "correctly". They tend to live in large clans and are fiercely protective of them, often characterized as overly paranoid and distrustful of outsiders - especially towards deer of the opposite alignment. It is exceptionally hard to shake a bad first impression to deer - they do not easily forgive, and almost never forget.
Most clans live away from industrialized cities, preferring to integrate with nature. They are often "employed" by governments as guardians of these regions, and are allowed to regulate deforesting, hunting, construction, and land. Despite their distrust, most clans do not clash with one another - preferring instead to keep well out of each other's way.

Reindeer
Lifespan: 400-500y Height: 7'00"-13'00" Diet: Omnivore Sex: Anbinary Type: N-P (Fly)
Though often mistaken for deer (and indeed capable of producing a fertile offspring with them), reindeer are differentiated by their front hooves and addition of wings. They, like deer, are isolationists and prefer to live reclusively, but do not form clans and dislike living in towns. They are difficult to remain in contact with, as many are prone to disappearing for months with no contact - only to turn up later, absolutely fine, with an excuse of introversion.
Most reindeer do not partake in romantic relationships, and instead travel north during a brief period in the winter to find a mate and have children (if they are interested). They tend to gather during this time on snow-capped mountains, which become hotspots of activity as reindeer glide from peak to peak and quietly mingle.

Serkie
Lifespan: 170-200y Height: 4'00"-9'00" Diet: Omnivore Sex: Binary Type: Non-Pony
Serkie are private and quiet, sometimes characterized as unambitious or (rudely) unintelligent. They prefer living in enclosed spaces and smaller houses, and particularly enjoy living in apartments or dormitories, and many more go into animal husbandry careers - especially veterinary or zookeeping. Despite their interest in animals, many find it difficult to work on farms due to the open fields and lack of cover.
Their tail-body is incredibly powerful and thick, able to keep up well with legged races. Many Serkie use the end of it as a third hand, though it lacks precision needed for things such as writing. Their tail stops growing shortly after puberty, and comprises the majority of their height. They are born with fangs that can inject a neurotoxin, and a forked tongue, but heavily dislike comparisons to snakes.

Chilopoda
Lifespan: ꝏ Height: (varies) Diet: Omnivore Sex: Sexless Type: Non-Pony
Chilopoda's centipede-like bodies grow continually, lengthening without end. The only way to shave down their height is by chopping off a section of their lower body, which is nonlethal and practically painless for them. This section can then grow into a new Chilopoda if it's large enough, giving rise to their reproduction - though most Chilopoda do not consider their spawn to be "children" and struggle to relate to other races' ideas of family. Progenitors do not feel a parental drive, and often abandon the young-but-independent spawn as soon as they form.
Otherwise, Chilopoda are generally gregarious but incredibly independent. They highly value self-sufficiency and naturally have low empathy, but dislike conflict and prefer the much-better alternatives of good food and conversation.

Bee
Lifespan: 500-800y Height: 7'00"-9'00" Diet: Insectivore Sex: Binary Type: Non-Pony
Bees are quiet but dedicated workers, often characterized as workaholics. They enjoy the sensation of being busy as incredible multitaskers, and typically have dozens of hobbies. They prefer a jack-of-all-trades ideal to mastering anything in particular, and highly value a plethora of skills when comparing themselves to others. They cultivate strong social networks, though they tend to be somewhat terse with Wasps, finding them overbearing and needy.
Attuned highly to agriculture and flora, many Bees find themselves working with the local farming district and helping manage it. Their eye for detail and dedication to doing things "right" make them indispensable workers. Outside of work, many Bees struggle with loneliness and isolation, and often go out of their way to attend parties, go to bars, or socially mingle.

Wasp
Lifespan: 500-800y Height: 8'00"-10'00" Diet: Omnivore Sex: Binary Type: Non-Pony
Wasps have an incredible propensity for magery and magic, in part due to their vast reserves. Their tails, horns, and parts of their skulls have a large clear structure that can store gallons of liquid magic without harm to the Wasp, which they can use in either casting spells or exhaling a magic-imbued stream of "breath". They are incredibly rare, but can almost always be found where Bees are - growing quickly attached to Bees and desiring their company.
Despite their potential for power and influence, many Wasps are shy and easily-flustered. Though they adore Bees, they're often not willing to make the first move - or any move, rather - and often melt into the background as wallflowers. They heavily dislike negativity, and avoid criticizing things that upset or displease them (and take criticism towards themselves exceptionally personally).

Beaut
Lifespan: 500-700y Height: (varies) Diet: Magivore Sex: Sexless Type: Non-Pony
Beauts are immaculate shapeshifters, capable of manipulating their flesh like clay but uniquely incapable of casting magic. For many years in most Universes, Beauts were considered a non-sentient race, comprised of such low Magninium that many questioned if they were intelligent. But intelligent they are, albeit somewhat crude, violent, self-sufficient, and abrasive. Beauts value the self, and see themselves as the perfect melding of magic and flesh as one singular being, capable of changing their form to reflect their inner conceptual identity.
However, their reproduction requiring laying eggs in another sentient combined with their low empathy and tendency for brutality make them highly unpopular. Many Beauts go "incognito" in cities, or chose to live separated from most civilization in Beaut hives.

Zlimi
Lifespan: ꝏ Height: 6'00"-10'00" Diet: Affection Sex: Sexless Type: Non-Pony
Zlimi, like Beauts, are shapeshifters - but unlike them, feed exclusively on validation and affection from other individuals. These feelings fill up the Zlimi's core, which serves as their mind, heart, and pool of magic all in one. This core is safely stored inside of their slime body, both controlling their unique composition and holding it together. They are also capable of casting magic.
Most Zlimi serve as public figures of some sort, avoiding controversy and seeking praise for good deeds they've had a hand in. Serving as direct politicians runs the risk of criticism or mishandling a situation, leading most to become general activists or volunteers instead. They are highly territorial and avoid each other's regions, not wanting to interfere in another Zlimi's validation-feeding.
